My goal as a personal fitness trainer is to share my knowledge and experience with others that will help them live healthier lives. In my upcoming columns I will offer advice that will enable readers to balance their minds and bodies to achieve good health. The key to a lifetime of good health is proper nutrition and regular exercise.
Since my high school years, I have always enjoyed sports. I was a gymnast in high school and college. I’ve competed in figure skating (my true passion), bodybuilding (I medaled at the NPC National Bodybuilding Championships and won first place in the 1991 Eastern USA), and even middle distance triathlons.
I have trained many athletes sport-specific exercises. Last year, for example, I ran an adult skating seminar at the Ice Vault in Wayne, New Jersey. I taught my skaters the importance of off-ice training, which emphasizes core stability, flexibility, and strength training.
I recently turned fifty, but I still have a youthful physique, a great immune system, and a healthy, lean body. I can recuperate from a hard workout as if I were still twenty. I’m still full of energy because of my knowledge about fitness.
